Criticwatch 2010 - The Year In Quotes (Part I)
by Erik Childress

And now a final recap of the year in quotes. Well, almost final as this could be a trilogy, a six-parter or as long as the Harry Potter series. Seriously, we have a lot to cover here. This is your chance to go back to your days of Sesame Street and pick out the oddball quotes, the ones that aren't like the others and those that just don't match up to the movie they are promoting. None of these quotes are taken out-of-context though. This isn't a literal matching game. The quotes are what they are for the films they are attached to by the critic/reviewer/whore who spoke or wrote them. Not all of these quotes are meant to be demeaning. As we seemingly have to always remind readers quick to wonder why someone like A.O. Scott appears down here, it is there to show the contrast between recommendations of serious-minded critics and those who saw some pretty adjectives and decided to use them. Again and again.
