Whats with having two separate pages for the movie Alien?

I mean, its totally pointless to have two pages just because one is the original version and the other is the director's cut. It's obvious that the director's cut is the version that is available today.

I don't see the same thing with Das Boot or with 1941 or with The Godfather Part III for example.

So, In my opinion, it would be wise to request that both Alien pages would be merged together please.

Thank you.

Hmm, well, both versions of Alien are available on the DVD. Plus the DC earned a theatrical release, which is why we added it separately.

Just let it go. It's really not that big of a deal. Nothing to lose sleep over anyway.

In the future, I would think we'll have a way of having one title with several different versions available under it, but for now, if a recut is significant enough to warrant a release on its own, I think it's understandable to have two up there.

There's a difference between five extra scenes in Star Wars, for example, and an extra half hour plus of storyline in something like Cinema Paradiso.

Nuance rules.

Das Boot also went through a major makeover, which it means it should also have a separate page, right?

Oh well, you won't hear any more from me, it's your site. Personally though, Alien IS Alien whether it's directors cut or not and having two separate pages may polarize voters since they wouldn't know which one to vote on.

But oh well, topic closed.
