Here are the praiseworthy films he churned out with his now-defunct DEG Studios based out of Wilmington, N.C.:

The Bedroom Window
Blue Velvet
Manhunter
Rampage
Weeds
Evil Dead 2

Of course, he also produced more than his fair share of turkeys there:

Maximum Overdrive
Raw Deal
King Kong Lives
Amityville 3-D
Tai-Pan

But bravo to him for giving director Michael Cimino a second chance with his first film since the notorious flop Heaven's Gate -- the wonderfully entertaining Year of the Dragon. But shame on him for changing the title of Michael Mann's 1986 Hannibal Lecter tale from Red Dragon to the generic title Manhunter -- you simply don't do that when the novel it was based on was a huge best-seller; many readers didn't bother to see the film at the theatre because they had no idea this was the adaptation of the book. (It wasn't even cited in the theatrical trailer!)
