Slasherpool (decent reviews; good movie pics)

Planet Sick-Boy (first-rate critic; kick-butt web design)

Doug Pratt's DVD Review (excepting FFC's Bill Chambers, was the best in the business)

porn eskimo - Good for a whack-off or two. Now been taken over by Brazzers, fuckers! Smile

Hey! you said "movie sites"! Wink

filmcritic.com, now that is being taken over by TMC, it just hasn't been the same website it was before. I consider it defunct now.

There's one that I'm glad finally went under: CultureCartel, which was previously Toxic Universe which was previously CultureDose. Used to write for it when it was the latter. The truly ignorant administrators were a bunch of prigs (a negative review of a "classic" film invoked lots of scorn from them; and they thought it unheard of that a major studio film could warrant zero stars) and didn't know the first thing about running a decent site.

Bye-bye!

Very Happy

And it seems they never were able to find an appropriate name for it, one that didn't make you shake your head, raise an eyebrow, or crack a sarcastic smile. Toxic Universe in particular; sounds like a DC/Marvel franchise.

There really wasn't anything wrong with the title of CultureDose, but because the site wasn't getting enough hits in their view, they stupidly went with a "catchier" one that was overwhelmingly bollocks. I left before that happened, though, but my friend and great critic Stephen Murray (who's published about 4 books) left right after they did that. But before I was through with them I insisted all my reviews be taken down because I didn't want to be associated with them anymore, and right after that I had all the links to my reviews there taken down in the External Reviews section of imdb.com.
