This is a topic that comes up from time to time at Home Theater Forum, and it's one that always makes me chuckle.

Share your picks for the worst DVD covers in the universe! I've got a few wretched ones to get us started.

Eventually one of the dullest DVD covers you'll ever see:

They couldn't even put the green demon truck on the cover?

Here's one I've always loved though:

Is Costner doing the Riverdance?
Or is he about to give us the ol' "exit, stage right"?

Shame shame. Real Genius is a good chuckle of a movie, and I LOVE Murder by Death. No excuse for such crappy slick work.

Sidney Wang: Yes, is confusing.
Lionel Twain: IT! IT is confusing! Say your goddamn pronouns!

what's wrong with the Excalibur cover? Granted, it's not particularly creative, but it's not laughably bad either. Although the original movie posters were far cooler: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082348/posters

The words at the bottom are somewhat laughable. And cliched. And melodramatic.

*shrug*. It was the film's original tag line, except I think it was "found by a King", which sounds better

nitpicky bastards! Razz

As if I didn't hate the whole "Blue Collar" thing as it is... this one's just Photoshop hell. Did Ron White even bother showing up for the lasso photo shoot? Answer: no.

Here's a fun game, called Look Who Got Famous:

Squirm's wasn't so bad for a cheap horror film, but the others in The Angry Jew's list are pretty funny, especially Critters with the flying monsters across the skyscrapers. Didn't that take place on a farm, and I didn't recall them flying.

The poster for Bourne Supremacy is a blond Damon holding a rifle with the word Supremacy spread across his body in red. It looks like neo-Naxi propaganda.

Ebert? Shame? Surely you jest. This man chose The Honeymooners over Howl's Moving Castle. Rolling Eyes

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky: Fun flick, Photoshop cover...

Yor, The Hunter From the Future: The name alone make your skin crawl, doesn't it? Bask in the dreadful cover art. Even worse, it doesn't justify the horror of how crap this movie is. How it didn't wind up on MST3K is beyond me. It's that bad.

As EFC/HBS's resident Frenchman, I can tell you that it's really an awful DVD cover. And that "Edition Collector" is not good French. "Collector" is not a French word. What we usually see is "Édition du Collectionneur" -- but I suspect the picture you have is from France, whereas I am in Quebec (i.e. Region 1), and that the French from France have this tendency to fill the language with as many unadapted English words as possible.

I will forever be convinced that this is the worst - and downright ugliest - DVD cover ever, or, at least, the worst for a movie that deserves better:

My eyes! My eyes! Oh, the Photoshopped horror!

Actually, the Ice Pirates cover is pretty much the original poster art.

Yep, still ugly though.
