Look Who's Talking

"Uh, no."
1 stars

Travolta. Alley. Willis. Tedious.

I can remember when this was John Travolta's comeback movie. The guy's had more comebacks than some people have had jobs.

So here's the concept. Mom (Kirstie Allley) is a slut. She sleeps with a client, gets pregnant and has the brat out of wedlock. The cabbie (Travolta) who takes her to the hospital falls for her, and she in turn falls for him. All of this is seen through the eyes of the bastard kid, who is voiced (in voiceoer, natch, since the kid's too young to talk) by Bruce Willis. Through his commentary, we're supposed to ooh and ahh at how cute the kid is and how weird it is that the dialogue matches his facial expressions and vice versa.

Hilarious, right?

Nope.

There are some funny moments, but not enough to warrant a recommendation, much less the two sequels that would follow (and lord how they stunk).

The opening with sperm swimming towards the egg is probably the funniest part of the film. You've been warned.
