"Not John Hughes, but an incredible substitute!"
4 stars

Cusack does Frank Capra. Daphne Zuniga shows her boobs. Anthony Edwards in a Hawaiian shirt. God bless this little flick.

Quite possibly, the greatest non-John Hughes teen flick of all time. It's basically a re-make of the old Frank Capra flick "It happened one night", where two folks start out on a cross-country trip and absolutely LOATHE each other, but goshdarn it if they don't start to like each other as they travel across this great land of ours. The movie just has it all. Tim Robbins singing show tunes, Nicolette Sheridan in a bikini as "The Sure Thing" (aka "The Easy Girl"), an uptight fiancee, a horny fat roomate...all the things that made an 80's movie great. And, as always, there's the almighty Cusack. I have this theory that everything that happens in your life between the ages of 16-25 has already happened in a John Cusack film, and this film just adds to the mystique. He's funny, and sweet, and awkward, just like every single one of us. Rent this movie. It'll put a smile on your face.

If a girl hates you, just be persistent, and she'll end up falling in love with you. God bless this little movie.
