Every once in a while a movie comes a long that touches the heart and brings out human emotion like never before. A Night at the Roxbury is not one of those movies. It's really interesting to watch the movie though, because you can identify the intelligence level that people are at. It seemed that the entire audience suffered from severe mental retardation, since they laughed during the opening credits for no reason at all. Then, they kept on laughing from there at all the bits that were in the previews because they thought they were supposed to.
It's not even that I'm uptight and don't appreciate childish comedy, but this isn't even funny on that level. It is one thing to see these guys for 2 minutes bobbing their heads on SNL, but it is quite another thing to watch them on screen for an hour and a half.
The only really funny part of the movie comes near the end when Chris Kattan blasts "What is Love" at a wedding, but that was only funny because of the volume the music was at. Since the movie is no longer in the theater and is out on video, however, the movie now has no funny parts and therefore has nothing to offer anyone who is not in elementary school or at that level of intelligence. So, if you're at home bored with nothing to do... don't watch this. Watch something good.
