This movie kicks so much ass it... well, it kicks a whole lotta ass. This movie is so much fun to watch, so well done, so awesome, that I'm having trouble finding the words to describe. But because I love each and every one of you, I'll try my bestest.
A summary: It doesn't really matter if you've seen the last movie, but it helps. Sarah Connor is in a mental institution, and her son is being raised by foster parents. Two Terminators arrive from the future. One to kill him, one to protect him, because in the future he is leader of a rebellion. Arnold is back (as a different Terminator, but they all look the same) this time, to protect. Robert Patrick is the T-1000, a more advanced terminator, made of liquid metal, that is here to kill poor little John (Eddie Furlong.)
The movie is excellent first and foremost because of the excellent script. The plot is enthralling and the dialogue, structure, use of dream sequences is superb. Criticise the director as you will but you gotta admit he USED to get the job done. *cough*dumbboat*cough*
The cinematography is probably the best of any action movie. It's done with precision and comes out great. Pretty pictures may indeed have a place in action flicks. Who knew? The acting is the best of anyone in this flick's career. Move over, Conan, meet the Terminator, the best incarnation Arnie has ever taken. Eddie was apparently not as distracted by his tutor/fiancee as we thought, because he steals this show. Well, he WOULD steal it if Linda Hamilton weren't so buff and kickass. She is the true hero in this one. 'Cause she's not a weak dumb bitch like in the other movie. If you havn't seen this yet, I'm coming over to your house to spork your ass! 5 sporks.
