“I liked THE TIGGER MOVIE a lot. Tigger was in it and Winnie The Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Kangaroo and the baby kangaroo and the boy named Christodder Robbinses. The movie was about Tigger. He’s a tiger. He’s a toy tiger. Pooh’s a toy, too. Tigger wants to do bouncing, but none of his friends want to bounce. They make him go away. I like Tigger. He wants to find his family, so he goes away. His friends go looking for him. They get in lots of snow. The snow coming down was scary. Tigger’s family is his friends and Pooh Bear.”The Tigger Movie is definitely for the Kinder set. Parents should be prepared for a very simple story which is thankfully short enough to be bearable and just right for the short attention span of the kids.
The songs were by the Sherman Brothers, Richard M. and Robert B., who made their mark scoring the big Disney movies of the 60s and 70s, like MARY POPPINS, CHITTY-CHITTY BANG-BANG and the original WINNIE THE POOH movies. I thought they had retired, but apparently there are still a few songs in the trunk. There is one great humungous production number that is in the recent Disney tradition of “Be Our Guest” “Never Had A Friend Like Me” “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” … you’ll enjoy the jokes aimed at the “olds.”I note The Tigger Movie was almost completely “Made In Japan” by the Disney offshore operation. Opens just in time for the April school holidays. Probably not aimed at anyone over seven, though the papered college crowd at the preview were having a hoot.
