The In Crowd. Worthless, puerile litter about a bunch of mardy boys and girls at a posh summer resort, whose competitions for popularity and acceptance go to violent lengths. A mentally unstable girl is released on a trial basis to work at the resort, but when the Queen Bitch welcomes her into the clique, it might have something to do with the resemblance to the big sister who deserted the group some time ago, rather than, like, her coolness. Why in the world did something like The In Crowd ever get made? Teens are not so hard-up for entertainment that simply because something is marketed to them that they will always bite; give them some credibility to pass up junk like this. Aside from that fact that all of the characters are played by nameless nobodies parading around as if they were some younger frat kids, they are wannabe, piss-poor imitations of Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna, Courtney Cox, Katie Holmes, Leslie Bibb, Matthew Lillard, Freddie Prinze, Jr., Giovanni Ribisi, etc., many of which are wannabes themselves to begin with. Director Mary Lambert could single-handedly be the posterchild of why there are so few (capable) women directors working todayóbecause with dreck like this, itíll ruin anyoneís reputation! As if it isnít bad enough to have hacks like Larry Clark exploiting the young female populous, itís much worse when a woman like Lambert attempts to compete and outdo. The end result: very, very pathetic, and very paltry.

Final Verdict: F.
