"scared the hell out of me when I was a kid"

One of my worst nightmares from childhood was turning into a snake..thanks to THIS movie.

Strother Martin..one of Hollywood's most mis-used and underrated actors of all time. This is his golden moment. He's a mad snake obsessed scientist type who wants to turn a man into a snake. He creates "snake people" believe it or not. he even reads in his arm chair with his pet boa reading over his shoulder.

Anyway, Dirk "Starbuck" Benedict is the hapless next victim of the great snake experiment (sounds like a porn movie).

The movie is cheesy, the plot is cheesy, but Strother is SO over the top and the scene where poor Dirk turns into a snake has to be seen to be believed. Of course, everyone gets killed (the snakes anyway) by a mongoose but its a grand trip while it lasts.

If you can actually FIND this flick, rent it or buy it. It scared the shit out of me when I was young, maybe now I would laugh at it, but I had a fun childhood and scary or not, it brings back fun memories for me.
