"If The Stiffmeister and The Sherminator had a fight, who would win?"
Yes, the Sherminator is back. So is Stiffler, and his Mom, and everyone else who was in the original, even most of the party background extras. The premise is even more contrived than the first, and everyone pretty much ends up with the same people they did last time (ain't love grand?). And, goddamit, it's still fun.Yes, there's really nothing new here. Jim's dorky-but-cool dad (Eugene Levy) still manages to embarass his son. Jim (Jason Biggs) is still inept with women and still getting into the most embarassing and humiliating scenarios possible. Stifler (Sean William Scott) is still an obnoxious idiot who has the funniest lines and only pussy on the brain. Kevin and Oz and their girlfriends still don't do much, and Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) still has the fake accent and probably-fake (though scrumptious) tits. Michelle is still stuck in band-camp limbo, but when Jim pays her a visit we get to see her come out of her shell, and she turns into one of the most intersting and likeable of the bunch.
It's the same old, but unlike, oh, say, Jurassic Park 3, it still manages to be fun. It feels like getting back together with old friends during spring break or a high school reunion. And, like old friends, it's nice to see that while they've matured a little (except for Stifler, of course, who seems to be suffering from retrograde social retardation), they're still the same bunch of guys you know and love. And it's nice to see Jim and Michelle get together again, only for reals this time (and please, no whining that I gave the fucking ending away. You'll see it coming from the opening credits).I don't know how much longer they'll keep it going, but I'll keep coming back for the ride until it stops being fun. I just hope it doesn't go as far as "American Pie 9 - the Midlife Crisis".
