Provocateur is a grossly pathetic melodrama about an Asian/Caucasian mutt who works for the Communist government and is assigned to be a housemaid for a military family, where the dorky high school rebel ends up falling in love with her. The object of concupiscence is Jane March, reciprocating the lust via cheesy sex scenes and soapy baths, long ago forgotten for her talent (The Lover) and remembered for her frontal nudity (Color of Night). Poorly choreographed action and desiccated romance substantiate an utterly lame label. No provocation here.

Directed by Jim Donovan. With Nick Mancuso.

Final Verdict: D-.
