Flowers for Algernon, only with Johnny Travolta. In summary, John Travolta sees a pretty light in the sky, and gets real smart-like. Since he's a good guy, he does good things, including seducing Kevin Bacon's girlfriend. He becomes a one-man sideshow when word spreads of his newfound intelligence and powers, and the government wants to find out what makes him tick.
This is an entertianing enough movie. It's cute and sweet and wonderful and you just wanna hug John to pieces, he's so smart and naive at the same time.
But at the same time, it's not terribly revealing or complex or anything but superficial. John and Kyra do well enough, and the movie is well centered and structured. It's not a bad film. The story has been done before, and I just feel there's nothing to make this spectacularly good or bad.
