"He's dead! Keep shooting!"

Why?

Why would you remake Yojimbo? Again?

Bruce Willis is John Smith (how original), on the lam during prohibition. He carries two guns, never misses, and squints a lot. He happens upon Jericho, Texas, a ghost town where warring gangs have driven everybody else off. Smith decides to play the role of hired gun, only he wants to play both sides and make a good bit of cash in the process.

Lots of two-fisted gunplay (Willis is drawn on by a dozen men and he hits them all!), but the performances are horribly uninspired, Willis in particular. It looks bad, too. Director Walter hill has created a faded, dusty atmosphere for the film, leaving an already weak film high and dry.

Why Walter Hill made this film, I'll never know.
