"Nice tuxedo... nice tuxedo to DIE in!"
4 stars

The basic idea behind this movie was The Wizard of Oz meets Mad Max with a little martial arts and rockabilly tossed in, as well. When watching... understand this was a student film shot on 35mm film for a total budget of around $25,000. (They used expired film stock they got on the cheap.)

Now, maybe Lance Mungia and Jeffrey Falcon aren't the best writers in the world and at times... most of the time, in fact... the dialogue is God awful. However... the action and cinematography make up for what's lacking in dialogue. Besides, there isn't much talking in the movie anyway.

The action, while not as good as Hong Kong action movies, is far better than American action movies. I think Jeffrey Falcon could be a well known action star (about Jet Li in the U.S. level) if he makes something like this again with a wider release and written by someone else. The cinematography is beautiful, probably one of the better examples in recent memory. It's hard to believe they shot on expired film stock, because it looks great.

The kid in the movie is annoying as all hell, because his only form of communication is screaming "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" and it gets very annoying to listen to.

The movie's not perfect, but it's interesting to watch and definitely worth renting if you can find it. It's very hard to find though, so you might have to buy it. But, if you have money lying around...
