Little Slate back on form.. and a cool directorial debut from Peter Berg.I am always weary of directorial debuts from actors. The last one which showed any realistic competence was Kiefer Sutherland (Last Light) who is now a top class independant film maker. But from one actor who I thought was only good for the B-movie acting marker, Peter Berg, he has surprisingly shown that he should be making the films.
A cool, extremely dark, black comedy about a man on his bachelor party killing the stripper, and the best man and friends deciding what to do with the body.
With a cast led by Christian Slater (damn he's cool being bad) Cameron Diaz (respect given to a cool actress) and John Favreau (I actually really like him) it makes for a funny, sick and very twisted film which packs a punch and does not bow to being subtle in any way.
This film might be too darkly funny for some. In a way I see it as a mix between Heathers/Last Supper/U-turn.
It has a razor sharp script and superb direction..I strongly urge EVERYONE to see this film!!!
