"No Miranda Rights apply here."
1 stars

Cryptic, suspenseless and idiotic little thriller from Marc Munden, about a librarian who falls in love off the deep end for a con woman with multiple identities (Christina Ricci) ó and thatís before they meet.

Thereís very little intrigue to begin with (who is she? what does she do? where is she going and where has she been? who really cares?) and once things get underway (punctuated by a smarmy voiceover and crackling phone conversations that lead nowhere) the interest steadily declines into negative territory. (After the pairís brief liaison, and Ricciís subsequent exodus, the milksop librarian alerts us ďEven Jesus came back after three days, and he was dead.Ē) Itís dark, without focus, itís jokey, without humor, and it has Ricci, Kyle MacLachlan, and John Hurt in three of the worst roles, and worst performances, of their careers. With John Simm.

[Not to be bothered with.]

7/13/05 Tom Davis Fascinating. Ricci is awesome 5 stars
3/10/05 David Not your typical femme fatale. Love conquers all, if not a breadboard. 4 stars
3/08/05 Nathan Johnson Not bad. Nice balance overall. Ending a bit too tidy. 4 stars
7/22/04 axe random acts of the depressingly lame 2 stars
3/27/04 Dylan Brown Utterly fabulous! Charming and feelgood. Simm is yet again outstanding. 5 stars
10/29/03 John Lloyd Stylish and kooky. Not great but it held my interest for 90 minutes. 4 stars
