Have you ever looked at a painting and thought 'damn thats one beautiful piece of art. I can't fault it. Stunning'? If so how long did you look at it for before you started to get annoyed as hell? This was Lord Of The Rings. I was raised on the books and they are well written but for me - they had nothing else to them - I didn't care for the characters or the story. Fuck 'em! I thought to myself whilst reading all 3 volumes of that pretty boredom.
Now Pete Jackson is a maestro in my books - I first saw Bad Taste when he reeled it around Cannes many moons ago - ever since I have loved his stuff. Meet the feebles, Forgotten Silver, Heavenly Creatures, Dead Alive.
So the film. Amazingly directing, top acting, script was good, FX of a high standard, everything was top rate. So why would I rather endure penis surgery than see any more of it?
IT BORED THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME!!!!! Christ I have never cared less about watching a film since Red Sonja. Don't get me wrong everything is so good in this film, the production, direction, acting, script etc.. but something made me hate it. I cannot place a finger on what it is. So I doubt I will bother with the next two.I dont care how beautiful something is - I just got so bored and annoyed with it. And normally I love epic films.
