Okay I have to admit I was one of those people who in the beginning had no desire to see this movie. I thought it was going to blow. Boy, was I wrong.Sam Neill and William H. Macy were awesome in their respective roles.
I didn't really care too much for Tea Leoni's performance - I kept hoping she'd be the next one to get eaten.
I wanted more of Laura Dern; her side story being the housewife didn't seem realistic.
By all means this was a great movie, the story kept me interested, on the edge of my seat, and above all else I cared about the majority of the characters...Barring Tea Leoni's who I wanted to see bite the dust!
I loved the Hitchcockian nod to 'The Birds' with the flying petrodactyl birdcage moments - that was classic!
Then the ending with the birds flying overhead - Hello! I smell a sequel involving big flying birds.
My plea to the scriptwriters please don't take the birds to NYC or any other large city. JP2 sucked after they got off the island. All in all this was a great movie!!! I highly recommend it.
