Twilight Zone: The Movie
[AllPosters.com] Buy posters from this movie
by Chris Parry

"Find the old originals, watch them all. Forget this."
2 stars

You're reading a review of a guy who worships the Twilight Zone like an arab worships Allah. Seriously. And this film still sucked balls.

Oh yes it did.

Okay, sure, the stories are good. They should be, they were written for the original series some forty years ago. But those stories have been done, and done in the style and with the atmosphere of the classic black and white low budget Rod Serling inspired TV series. Those originals can't be bettered by putting flashy production values to them. They can't be bettered by putting a fresh face on them. Their appeal lies in their basic production, 50's background music, style and starkness.

So even with big name additions and direction and huge budgets, this project was destined for mediocrity.

And that's what it is. Mediocre.
