With the addition of TraversWatch to our cadre of keeping the studios honest, we are hoping for big progress at Criticwatch in 2011. Sometimes in this fight it is difficult to tell who the junkies are with one hand washing the other. We're never going to stop the quote whores and you can't make them change their crooked spots. But we can educate the studios that they are being screwed over in this deal. They have any number of available critics at their disposal, free of charge. You may not be able to get them to say exactly what you have on those three pages of ready-made quotes, but take what you want and leave the rest. So long as it comes in writing and not from the mouths of idiots. The quote whores are the devils you know. More importantly, they are the devils WE know. And to hell with any up-and-coming critic who aspires to be one of them. Criticwatch is the fire where you come to get burned. Only the studios have the water supply necessary to help douse it. And it begins now.
