CANADIANS! Wanna go see Broken Lizard's CLUB DREAD for free?

Club Dread opens February 27th across Canada!
by Chris Parry

All too often our friends north of the border get shut out of cool contests where you can win great prizes. "Win a new car! (contestants must be US citizens to be eligible for prizes)" is something the good people of the great white north hear all too often, but this is about to change, courtesy of the folks at 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight. The follow up film to Broken Lizard's Super Troopers - CLUB DREAD - is nearing release, and to celebrate that auspicious occasion, we've got free double passes to give away in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto. Read on for details...

But before we get to the details, here's the scoop on Club Dread: "From the crew who brought you “SUPER TROOPERS”……Broken Lizard is back, surrounded by limber, wanton women on a booze-soaked island resort owned by Coconut Pete (Bill Paxton), a rock star has-been. But the non-stop party takes a turn for the weird when dead bodies start turning up faster than you could drink a rum punch. Everyone begins to look suspicious. Could it be Sam (Erik Stolhanske) of the Fun Police brigade, who is quick on the trigger with his tequila loaded super-soaker; Jenny (Brittany Daniel), the over-sexed, fitness instructor; Juan (Steve Lemme), the flamboyant diving instructor with a secret third-world past; Putman (Jay Chandrasekhar), the bratty-British tennis coach/fanatic; Dave (Paul Soter), the ecstasy-crazed, adopted nephew of Coconut Pete; or the burly masseuse (Kevin Heffernan) blessed with a creepy ‘touch’ that can render anyone into instant Jell-O? Can the inhabitants of Pleasure Island unite, solve the mystery and restore happy hour to this tropical bacchanal?"

Okay already, enough with the publicity blurb - so how do you win a double pass to a Club Dread sneak preview in your town?

It's simple. Just send an email to contests@hollywoodbitchslap.com with your name, address, and the answer to this simple question:

Which actor directed and starred in Broken Lizard's previous film, Super Troopers?

Here's a clue: He also directed and stars in Club Dread.

And if you think that's easy, not so fast... we require you to use CORRECT SPELLING in your answer. That oughtta test out the supposedly superior Canadian education system, eh?

And, as a special bonus, if you can tell us the director's ORIGINAL name (the one he was given at birth), you might be the lucky individual who gets their double pass turned into a DOUBLE DOUBLE pass!

That's right, one lucky Canadian contestant gets to take three friends to the movies for free!

Now don't forget - if you're not in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary or Toronto, don't bother entering. You'll just have to go buy a ticket like everyone else when Super Troopers opens across Canada on Friday, February 27, 2004.

Thanks to 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight for providing the tickets, and if you want to see more info on Club Dread, visit http://www.clubdread.com/
