Just for the record, the Nicole Kidman version is pretty good as well, though definitely the weakest of the four--I have to go with the Kaufman version as my favorite

Actually, this film has been on the drawing board for something like a decade and for a long time, Stallone was going to star in it, presumably as the mobster. That might have been a tad interesting
