Here's the thing - I'm planning to put together an HBS ebook, with the best reviews of the best movies. Scott, Erik and I (and some others) talked about this a few months back with a view to making some money, but I'm thinking it might be easier, quicker and better for the site if we made it a smaler project, and freely downloadable, with plenty of links back to the site. All viral marketing n'shit.
So what I need is people who will fill one or more of the following categories.
A) People who are prepared to write reviews of any flicks we've missed.
B) People who are prepared to go through existing reviews and find the best of the best.
C) People (well, women) who look like Charlize Theron and are very loose with sexual favors.
On top of that, I'll be posting a bunch of threads asking for people's top 5's in various areas - populate those threads so that we can compile the results and use them in the ebook.
What's an ebook? What am I, Joe Teacher? Look it up. |

I'll do B. I'm too damn lazy to write a review, even though I've been meaning to for months, and I want to contribute to the site any way I can. |

I'll try to do a little of A and B. I've been trying to write some back reviews for a while, but this new client I'm working at has a 3 hour commute every day (fucking bay area traffic) so my free time is sparse. The gig should only last a couple of weeks, though, and then I'll be laid off again |

So, the boys are avoiding C, huh?
I'm willing to help, too. I'm pretty new as a reviewer, so I don't know if my writing is of the quality you would need yet. But, I'm willing to contribute in any way that's useful. |

Kyle, you are now officially the Guilty Pleasures sheriff. See that thread in the Movie Talk cateogry asking people to list thier guilty pleasures? For each one mentioned, I need you to find the best review (in terms of quality writing and humor) that you can.
Then I need you to cut n paste them and slap them in a word document, in this style.
MOVIE TITLE:
HEADLINE:
REVIEWER/# OF STARS:
AVG HBS SCORE:
REVIEW TEXT:
URL:
...and when all is said and done, I need you to put them in order of most mentions to least. If you do it as people post their Guilty Pleasures each day, it should be a (relatively) easy task.
Tasha, you can be the Alien Landing Sheriff and deal with the films mentioned on the thread dealing with what people would show an alien seeking an education in film. Same template.
And both of you, if you come across a movie mentioned that isn't reviewed yet, just list that on the side and we'll get some A folks on them down the road.
Cheers! |
