Actually - here is the place to talk about Halloween Ressurection!
Part I - brilliant!
Part III - I liked this one too (even if it didn't fit!)
Before H20 - What was this?
H20 - Blah till the last 10 minutes.
Ressurection - Loses my interest a quarter hour into it. Did they really rip off House on Haunted Hill? Doesn't that scream direct to video?
Others Too Horrible For Mortale Mann to Contemplate (almost)
1. Hellraiser - from Clive Barker masterpiece to direct to video crapola.
2. Candyman - ditto, can't even remember Part 3 - my ultimate insult!
And some survivors...
1. Child's Play - Chuckie rocked and Jennifer Tilly was hot! I loved it!
2. Jason X - crappy series but I actually liked Jason X (really!)
3. From Dusk to Dawn 3 - better than the stuff in the theatres
4. Nightmare on Elm Street - A New Nightmare redefined Freddy, and he's still cool!
And some neutral ground.
1. Puppet Master - some good, some bad....each one is different.
2. Leprechaun - started crappy...stayed crappy
3. Lawnmower Man - okay only 2 movies but I loved the first one and hated the ssecond
PS - Superman and Batman are so obvious I passed them by. _________________ Walls keep things in or out. You will appreciate them when you try to live without them and need them the most. |

Ruined serieseses? Hmmm.
Some of these more than others, but...
Hellraiser
Halloween
Batman
Speed (One sequel was more than enough, tyvm.)
Friday the 13th
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Beverly Hills Cop
Major League
Police Academy
and probably about 400 more. _________________ Scott Weinberg |

Slap Shot. Of course, it wasn't a series until 'Barney Rubble' Baldwin did a sequel. now it's a ruined series. |

Batman
1. great
2. allright
3. crap
4. utter crap
Star Wars
4-6 kicked ass
1. sucked the big ol hairy ass
Star Trek
1-4 great
5-6 shit
Speed: the second one destroyed it all
Species: complete utter shit
Hellraiser was utter shit and stayed utter shit. Same with Friday the 13th
Police Academy was great but the 6 sequels were formulaic crud especially the last one.
Beverly Hills Cop was great until the 3rd (and hopefully last) one _________________ Slyder

I think you really have to have more than two movies before we can call it a series. Is there a rule on this? Ah, ok, it's just my rule.
Quote: | Batman
1. great
2. allright
3. crap
4. utter crap |
Works for me! 5 words for 4 movies with all the detail you really need.
Quote: | Star Wars
4-6 kicked ass
1. sucked the big ol hairy ass |
2. ? Lucas Lovestory Lackluster?
Quote: | Star Trek
1-4 great
5-6 shit |
Actually I'm partial to the odd=bad, even=good theory but even as a NextGen fan have not liked a single NextGen movie...hoping Nemesis will be better, but prepared for the worst.
Quote: | Speed: the second one destroyed it all
Species: complete utter shit |
I never thought either original was that great to be honest but somehow the sequals did come out worse.
One addition Leprechaun...total shit. Never got worse, never good to begin with. _________________ Walls keep things in or out. You will appreciate them when you try to live without them and need them the most. |

The "Alien" series
1)Brilliant
2)action packed fun
3)tedious and dreary, but at least they had the decency to kill off Ripley.
4)They brought her back - ARRRRRGHHH!!! |

Star Trek VI is so much better than III, it's ridiculous. I used to include the original lumped in with three on that as well, but Robert Wise actually fixed it for the DVD release. And, I must say, in the day of revisionist filmmaking ruining, or changing for the sake of changing, he really fixed it up, and there's only one shot in the whole thing that's clearly been added later by CGI.
I haven't seen anybody say 'Rocky' yet ... but I definitely think that's one for the list. First one's great, second one's not, third one's camp-great, fourth one has only a camp-great climax, and the fifth one is so far past camp-great that it goes past even camp-bad and falls into 'terrible, but impossible not to enjoy the stupidity of it'.
"Now you just watched two people trying to kill each other. But maybe that's better than ten million. ... I'm here to say if I can change, and you can change, then maybe we can all change." -- priceless |

If we're talking Stallone, what about First Blood v. Rambo(s)? I can't comment, because I only saw the first one. |

Nope, you're right. First Blood is a damn good movie. I loathe the other two on a biblical level. _________________ Scott Weinberg |

frankly i loved the Police Squad Series, and Naked Gun seemed a good step. the second one got weak, and the third one is just lame.
also i'm just going to say now that if anyone makes a Blues Brothers 2020, then just add that to this list for me, cause i'll have killed myself.
oh one more thought, how about the ape series? i loved the original, but can't view any others as more than just sunday afternoon killing-time-watching-man-apes movies.
