Out of these 5 films, which 4 would you choose?:
Love Actually
Jerry Maguire
I Am Sam
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
The Omen (2006)
It's just too hard to choose... |

I have only seen the awful "I am Sam," so I choose the other four...

I tend to agree with Scott... your question would be better if it were "out of these 5 films, which four would you not choose?" |

Anything but I Am Sam.
I would recommend drunken Ed Wood porn over I Am Sam.
There really isn't anything I wouldn't recommend over I Am Sam. _________________ But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

Sad, isn't it, that so much scorn is directed at a film that showcases two of our finest thespians? But, hey, if the noose fits... _________________ "Joe the Plumber -- you can quote me -- is a dumbass." -- Meghan McCain |

Pfeiffer is actually really good in it, if you can divorce her performance from the rest of the movie. Then again, I think Pfeiffer has gotten better as an actress as she's gotten older, despite the often unexciting things she ends up in. _________________ But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

Thing is, Pheiffer turned down the role of Clarice Starling, which earned Foster the '91 Oscar, while Pheiffer got ignored for her sensational performance in Frankie and Johnny, which was way better than Foster's. Pheiffer's always had the acting chops, but, yeah, Rob,her film choices haven't been so hot. But when she's got the right material, she's right up there with Julianne Moore. _________________ "Joe the Plumber -- you can quote me -- is a dumbass." -- Meghan McCain |

Aw, for a minute I thought it'd be this instead.
As for the original question: Love Actually is a great, great movie (anyone who says otherwise is a twat), Maguire and 10 Days are OK enough for a rental, and I Am Sam is the Worst Thing Ever. I believe I once called it a "wet fart of a movie." |

Jerry Maguire is overrated, How to Lose... is vanilla to the extreme, while Love Actually is cliched slush that has some bearable moments. Haven't seen the other two.

I dig Jerry Magurie and Love Actually (though the latter is way too long and occasionally too cutesy)
What I am curious about is the situation that you are involved in where these are your only five film choices. Just seems like an odd grouping--two good romantic comedies, one shitty one, Tards-a-Poppin and the frickin Omen. _________________ "Happiness is a state of mind/Anytime you want, you can cross the state line"--Bob Dylan |

well....it turned out I bought all of them, since (I'm 14) my mom lets be but I didn't bought Jerry because it wasn't the 2-disc set (yes, I like watching bonus features) but all of these movies were $5 (the other movies) to $7 (the omen). So far I've seen The Omen and How to Lose a Guy, which were ok films... |

Well, you have two of the horror films out of the way--try to gird your loins for I AM Sam _________________ "Happiness is a state of mind/Anytime you want, you can cross the state line"--Bob Dylan |

Love Actually was a good movie. Better than most romantic comedies but it wasn't the best one. |
