Awesome! Pretty sure that's a Fergie song she's making fun of, not sure, hehe. Even Nelly Furtado has made a few jabs at Fergie in some songs. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/laurjane |

Speaking of great acoustic covers...
I happen to like this one a lot, for different reasons.
And also, if you get a chance, check out Nouvelle Vague's "The Killing Moon," it's on the eFilmCritic myspace page too.
K, sorry, turning this thread into a music thread. Forgive me. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/laurjane |

Hey Laur, how many songs does the MySpace playlist hold? Maybe you could get a favorite song or two from the EFC regulars and see if you can add them to the playlist.
For me, I want Funky Shit by Prodigy. _________________ Scott Weinberg |

And!
Whoever has yet to add eFilmCritic as a friend on Myspace, please do!!!! Add all your fellow EFC-ers too. And get a Myspace if you don't have one. I mean, everybody else is doing it. Seriously, it's a cool way for everyone to keep in touch and shite. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/laurjane |

Sure. If it were 1985.
I'm going for William Shatner doing his cover of Pulp's 'Common People'.
No better song in the last decade. _________________

It was only a matter of time before somebody took out one of the dumbest songs ever, but who would have thought that Alanis Morissette would be the triggerman?

Gee, I like both the video and Alanis's own lady lumps--does that qualify as ironic?
As for my contribution to the efc playlist, put me down for one of the following
1. Side B of "Metal Machine Music" (Lou Reed)
2. "Midnight Blue" (Lou Gramm)
3. "Then He Kissed Me" (The Crystals)
4. "French Heels" (Debbie Reynolds)
5. "Revolution #9" (The Beatles) _________________ "Happiness is a state of mind/Anytime you want, you can cross the state line"--Bob Dylan |

I suggest:
The Pogues - Rainy Night in Soho
Jarvis Cocker - Running the World
Ben E. King - Stand By Me
Kasabian - Empire
Muse - Supermassive Black Hole _________________ "We hate the French! We fight wars against the French! Did all those men die in vain on the fields of Agincourt? Was the man who burned Joan of Arc just wasting good matches?" |

One question: Shouldn't we make sure our songs are from movie soundtracks?
You know, to keep in theme? _________________

Damn you Canadian logic Nazis.
Well, my picks still mostly work. "Then He Kissed Me" has been featured in many a film, notably "Goodfella" and "Adventures in Babysitting." "French Heels" was the flip side to the theme song from "Tammy." "Revolution #9" will hopefully be featured in "Across the Universe" and "Metal Machine Music" will remind many of the sound made from a broken speaker in a movie theater.
As for "Midnight Blue," it is simply the single greatest rock song in history. _________________ "Happiness is a state of mind/Anytime you want, you can cross the state line"--Bob Dylan |

MySpace is evil, through and through. But if you're adding music, please to be adding tunes from The Infinity Ball. A longtime pal of mine is the bassist, but even without that fact, they kick much of the ass. And the only good that can come of a site so evil is to promote the little bands. (And by little, I mean that each member is under four feet tall.)
If you can't do that, then my pick is this. Hell yes. |

Dave, I love you, but we only have fourteen hours to save the earth.
Best rock song ever? No contest. _________________

I'm sure I won't be able to find a song from such a little band on project playlist, Dave, sorry.
And if Myspace weren't evil, it couldn't be such a totally fun guilty pleasure. It is what you make of it, though, in all honesty. It's really useful for me, that and Facebook. I loves 'em, those social networking tools. And it'll probably end up being like Wal-Mart -- if it is indeed an evil -- it will become necessary. Just like if Wal-Mart doesn't sell your product, you'll go out of business... if you're not on Myspace, then you're a nobody, etc. I know it would be incredibly dumb for eFilmCritic not to have a Myspace.
And the songs on eFilmCritic are indeed featured in movie soundtracks, fyi -- Devotchka's "The Winner Is" is from Little Miss Sunshine and "The Killing Moon" cover is featured in a movie I saw at SXSW and didn't like at all. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/laurjane |

That's OK. I suppose Queen will do fine without our help.
And yeah, MySpace is inescapable, and of course we should have a presence there. But it's such an ungodly site, ugly and poorly designed and a general pain in the ass to visit.
And what's project playlist? I thought you could upload anything to play on MySpace... but then, I also think the internet is a system of tubes. |

It is ugly and horribly designed. Facebook is 10x better in every way, shape, and form.
But anyhow, you can play any song on Myspace, but if you want to have a whole playlist with lots of songs, you can use www.projectplaylist.com. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/laurjane |
