Well, I think you need to re-think how you think you thought that.

In retrospect, I should've impersonated my parents.

Mom:"You kids stop that! Don't fight!"

Dad: "You kids get out in the yard with all that damn noise."

Sure, why not? Cheeseburgers all around--breakfast of champions, boy. Very Happy Only one problem. I kind of carbonized the bacon this morning. Y'all should've heard me raving. "Stupid porcine gristle strips I will destroy you!"

Dropping this here as it's become the Hilton thread (Kyle, we still loves ya!):

The special treatment continues...

Quote:
Paris Hilton's parents visited their daughter after breezing past others waiting to see loved ones -- an incident that raised new complaints that the heiress is receiving special treatment.

...

Shatani Alverson, 23, said she was hustled out of the jail's visiting room moments after her husband walked in because of the Hiltons. She was told to come back after lunch.

Steve Whitmore, a sheriff's spokesman, said it was routine for high-profile inmates to receive visitors during lunch, a time when the visiting room is normally cleared out and closed.

Granted, that last paragraph reminds us it's not just a Hilton case, but a celeb case. Still, fuck 'em all.

As to the debate over Hilton's early release being favorable or normal?

Quote:
Mary Tiedeman, who regularly visits the jails as a monitor for the ACLU, said the area where Hilton was being housed was usually reserved for high-security inmates or those worse off than Hilton has appeared.

"I don't know what her health issue is, but you have got to have a pretty intense medical or mental health problem to be in that part of the jail," she said.

I saw one of those reports as well Dave and got a chuckle. There was a woman there waiting 4 hours to see her husband who watched the Hilts stroll right up past the line.

Still, it doesn't address Laura's issue of whether or not its a regular practice of the Sheriff to grant early release to both norms and celebs, but I guess this number speaks for itself.

The sheriff lets all the Paris Hiltons get their visitors before everyone else. It's NOT FAVORABLE TREATMENT.

Also, I am the 24th top poster.

you've had that much experience posting, and yet you can't really seem to get more than one note out of your joke, huh?

thanks kand el. i have no opinion at all on her particular cell or treatment in jail, i never made one.

and rob, thanks for taking advantage of every opportunity to get on my nerves, no matter how unwarranted. go ahead, i dare you to respond with some kind of super hilarious, sarcastic comment that has absolutely no relation to any point i've made. either way, i win. because if you do that, methinks you'll finally lead everyone to realize you're the drama queen.. and if you don't, well fine by me.

You say that like it's a good thing. haha. Ben owns the site and he has less than half your posts. (And I've been here since before the site had a name. When it was just an idea being tossed around. Suck on that, y'all! WOO! /sooldschooliwin!)

Christ. I thought that said something about carbonated bacon. Then I was going to be sick. Bacon's no good unless it's carbonized, or close to it. I don't enjoy it if you have to gnaw on it. It's crispy or bust.

The general schadenfreude over the whole situation will ensure that the general public won't care all that much Paris, in the popular view, is paying now for all the stuff she's dodged all her life.

However, what's of concern here is the precedent it sets and how it may affect far less famous nonviolent offenders in the future. As the article states, "Most nonviolent female offenders sentenced to less than 90 days are released immediately." Nonviolent offenses can also include, say, being caught with a dime bag or something (in case the drunk-driving thing pushes a she-could've-killed-someone button, as it does with many people). A prosecutor can then say, "I recommend the full punishment of the law for this offender in light of the decision made in the case of the People of the State of California v. Paris Hilton" regardless of whether said law is draconian and out of proportion to the "offense." (I'm using the drug example because I personally don't believe in drug criminalization and I feel a lot of folks on the forum would agree.)

can we get back to debating the debate? i love an argument about an argument.

or asking for stats. that's always fun. especially when it's clear the requestee has nothing and no intention of ever complying.

See, there you go. Paris is indeed serving more time than most people do who are convicted of comparable offenses. Why couldn't the LA Times have reported this days ago, and spared us all this hardship?!

Also, I would like to go on the record as saying that even if Paris' only crime is driving 45 in a 35 zone, she should still be put to death. That is all.

My first YouTube hate mail, in response to my Paris Hilton vid I expect:

Wow Lauren, I must say, you are even more brain dead than Paris
Hilton. What the heck were you doing in college, sleeping, giving
brain? You sound like a complete moron when you speak and attempt to
sound intelligent. McDonalds is hiring, although I don't think you'd
make the cut.

I have but one request, PLEASE do not ever, ever procreate, one of you
is more than enough. I suggest you put a .44 magnum in your mouth and
pull on that trigger.

peace

I reposted it on my comments section. Smile

Don't you love how this trick bids peace immediately after recommending suicide? Man, that about moved me to tears. You just can't buy that kind of consistency.

I'm still trying to figure out if the poster's problem was with the content or your delivery. They don't exactly make the source of their ire clear. Was there a lacountypenitentary.gov address on the signature?

You should have someone email him back, telling him you killed yourself, and after looking through your final emails, you found his note.
