Weird feelings watching this flick. It's like funny, but after ten years of watching Alan Alda's TV series... it's kind of negated the impact.Elliott Gould and Donald Sutherland aren't necessarily better than Alan Alda and co.. just different. Less Groucho Marx and more Karl Marx.
You all know the deal. Wartime medical unit in Korean war. Everyone's a bit loopy. Frank Byrnes (Bobby Duvall - told you it was weird) and Hot Lips Houlihan getting it on and giving everyone hell. Insert anti-war sentiment here.
On it's own, MASH is a very good, poignant film. But with it's younger, less smart brother behind it pulling faces it kind of takes away from the effect.More's the pity.
