"You thought he couldn't get any worse. You were wrong."
Yahoo Serious is back. So is that acidic bile taste at the back of your throat. The king of one hit wonders (Young Einstein) and second hit blunders (Reckless Kelly) has gone to the well again, all these years later, and the theme is exactly the same as it always was. Pratfalls, underdeveloped humour, slapstick and weak satire. Surely he won't find someone willing to fund another one. Oh wait, Paul Hogan is shooting 'Crocodile Dundee In LA'. Clearly no cinema evil is too foul to find a funder. Mr Accident is proof. So Yahoo is a weirdo who likes to tinker with things and bangs his head on stuff a lot. He works for an egg company who are putting an additive in their product to get the world hooked. The boss is eville. Yahoo is in love with someone who bangs her head on things like him. And has large boobs.
The phrase 'more of the same' has never been so perfect than it is right here. There is nothing different about Mr Accident from Serious' earlier work. Nothing at all. Not a damn thing. The characters are the same, the stories are the same, the life-lessons are just as silly, the humour is completely "silly man bang his head" based.
I mean, does the world really need to see Yahoo Serious fall backwards out of a window again? Isn't once enough? Save us, Satan.
If this isn't a bomb, I'll date Sean Young. If it makes it's money back, I'll fly to San Francisco, put myself in stocks, naked, with a big target painted on my arse. If this film lasts a month in cinemas, I'll retire my keyboard and never judge a film again. If the world runs that wrongly, I deserve all the above and a whole lot more.
But don't think I'm choosing a new career just yet. Mr Accident is as unfunny as any Australian film I've seen in years, and holds so little audience appeal at this point in history, I'd stake my life on it's failure.Hell, they were running the trailer in cinemas NINE MONTHS AGO and they've only just decided to release the thing now.. during the olympics.. there's confidence.
