Before I start this review, I'd just like to state that Vince Vaughn kicks ass. Now that we all know that, we can move on to the review.Okay, the first part there with Anne Heche and Viggo Mortenson in the apartment and then Anne in the office and then Anne in her apartment and then Anne in the car stealing the money and then the part with the cop and the part with the car dealership... that all sucked. I can't remember if it sucked that bad in the original, but I don't think it did.
However, when Vince Vaughn entered the film, it got way better because, as I stated before and as we all now know, Vince Vaughn kicks ass. He played Norman slightly differently than Perkins did I thought. He seemed to play him a little more "Psycho," if you will probably because everyone already knew he was the killer this time. When he first came out in the rain there and checked in Marion Crane it was a little weird. But, when they went back into the parlor so Marion could eat, he started to kick ass.
It's hard to rate a movie like this since it's exactly the same as the first one but in color and with different actors. Viggo played Sam Loomis as a cowboy in this one with an accent so it was difficult to understand him at first, so that was a little different. Also, Julianne Moore is much hotter than whoever played Marion's sister in the original Psycho. But, Anne Heche is not as hot as Janet Leigh was in 1960 so that evens everything out.
So, since the original movie is great and this movie is the same as the original movie, but Vince Vaughn is in it... I'd have to rate this the same as I would rate the original, correct? In conclusion, Vince Vaughn kicks ass.
