Weekend at Bernie's
[] Buy posters from this movie
by Godfather

"I'd rather eat my balls than watch this shit again."
1 stars

A comedy of errors. The concept, loosely described, means a situation in which humour is derived from a series of mishappenings in which people are lead to believe one thing is happening when in fact it is something completely different. This is only funny when the situation that the people believe is a believable situation. When it is so remarkably stupid that the people believe what they are seeing, it is not a comedy of errors. It is an error in comedy. That is the main fault with this ridiculously stupid piece of crap.

Larry (Andrew McCarthy) and Richard (Jonathan Silverman) are two young computer whizzes at an insurance firm who find a two-million dollar discrepancy in the companies' accounts. They report it to their boss Bernie (Terry Kiser) who of course is the embezzler. He in turn invites them to his beach house for the weekend as a reward (and a pretext to killing them). When he arranges the hit with local mobster friends they decide to kill Bernie too. In this they succeed. Now the two supposedly bright young men come to the clever conclusion that they should instead of reporting the death have a party instead. This is ok because no one at the beach has the intelligence to determine that Bernie is dead.

Now if this premise is not bad enough, there is a gangster who thinks Bernie is alive even after he kills him three times. And Richard has a love interest with one of the homeliest and least talented actresses in Hollywood (Catherine Mary Stewart). Her acting is so bad she makes Julie Roberts look competent (insert shudder here).

Short, sweet, and to the point. This is one of the dumbest films I have ever seen. I have a wart on my ass that has an IQ that is too high to appreciate this garbage. In the name of God and all that is holy, if you are ever in a position to see this movie, kill yourself instead. Even if you end up in Hell for eternity it would be a better option.

For Hollywood BitchSlap, I'm the Godfather.
