Finn Taylor’s (Dream with the Fishes) tribute to Eighties music: A social misfit runs over a police officer when a psycho-stalker “invades” her vehicle. The only problem? There’s no evidence of anyone else having been in the car. So the poor girl is put under house arrest for her sentence and must be checked-up on daily by a nerdy tech officer who has her ankle rigged to a “deadlock” device. A hollow idea, lacking structure, chemistry, discipline (in the rotation of records), and most of all in a movie like this, fun. It merely drones on, the plucky heroine determined to outsmart the “anal retentive” cop, and to prove her innocence as this faceless stalker continues to use his omniscient evilness. (Truthfully, this girl is as delusional as the pursuing DJ.) Any playful moments are swept away by the change of tone in the closing act, as Cherish turns into an amalgamation of Karate Kid and Sleeping with the Enemy.
With Robin Tunney and Tim Blake Nelson.[Not to be bothered with.]

This film needed a lot more Jason in it. Would have been a lot better with more Jason.
