"But hot DAMN don't their heads look cool?"
3 stars

Yay sci-fi! And I have a particular attachment to this film.

See, I am like those aliens. This summer I had fungal growth which made my belly look just like the aliens in Alien Nation. It's gone now, but everytime I showed anyone (it was cool, I was gunna show it off, duh) Their immediate reaction was "holy shit, You're one of the aliens from Alien Nation!" followed by a pause and then, "Is your head like that?" No, unfortunately.

But I digress. This movie is an example of what I would like to see more of in sci-fi. Sci-fi that isn't so out there we can't relate. This is basically a cop movie. Two guys are forced to be partners and they come from different backgrounds, and they learn to respect one another by working towards the common goal of defeating some evil. But it's got ALIENS. And cool shit.

While being a fresh approach that I enjoy, the movie really is quite average. Don't get me wrong-it's entertaining. It's just nothing terribly special. My ultimate flick would be a movie that would be good if you took out all the fluff, all the cool camera angles, all the special effects, all the weird shit, and it's still quality. Story is key.

And here, story has been done. It's a shame. 3 sporks.
