Whether or not you enjoy this film depends entirely on whether or not you enjoy Parker Posey or see her as the second coming of all things Fran Drescher.Personally, I've got one foot in each of those boats. While she's been great in Henry Fool and was well above mediocre in The Daytrippers, right here and in all films around this one, she was annoying as all hell.
Party Girl is about a brainless gal who's entire life is shopping and partying. And that's pretty much all the film is about too.
So the whole thing hinges on it's laugh-power and it's leading lady, neither of which come to the fore in any strong fashion.
There are some small moments which keep the finger off the eject button, but precious few and overall there's not much on offer.If it's on TV at 4am on some crappy cable channel.. they'll have cut any good bits out. So avoid it.
